Colorado is another state that is quite friendly and progressive towards tiny homes.
Although a state-wide easing of rules is still lacking, some counties and cities have gone out of their way to make it easy to build or own a tiny house.
The city of Walsenburg for instance has taken measures to reduce or waive the minimum square footage required for a house.
In 2014, city council members eliminiated a zoning code that previously prohibited buildings smaller than 600 square feet. They also reduced the minimum size of the exit door, and also waived stairway regulations for the loft area.
Park County, Colorado, has also taken measures to make it a go to place for tiny home enthusiasts.
They have reduced the minimum square footage, as well as eliminated regulations on size of kithen working space, separate bathrooms, separate closets etc.
