Tiny House Regulations and Zoning Requirements in Missouri
Missouri is one of the most unfriendly states for the tiny house movement in the US.
There is little mentioned anywhere about tiny houses on foundations, with most emphasis and regulation going to trailers and RVs.
Tiny houses on wheels, referred to as ‘travel trailers’ do not require special highway movement permits when drawn by a vehicle. However, that’s where the fun stops. They are not allowed in a city and it is unlawful to park them on a street or anywhere public.
These restrictions and definitions (or lack thereof) make it extremely difficult to legally build your permanent tiny home on a foundation.
